How to prevent from getting offloaded

Are you ready to go outside the country? Get new experiences, learn from the locals, explore everything. Before that, you need prepare all the things you need, not only your clothes and bags, also you need to prepare yourself to the immigration. I flew several times outside the country. I encounter many people who is first time flying and scared of being offloaded by a immigration officer.

THINGS YOU NEED TO PREPARE

1. Passport - It should be valid for 6 months before your trip. It also have no defect (tampered, scratch, ripped, and etc.). Also you need to make sure your signature is placed and you filled up the emergency page at the back.

2. Visa (if needed) - If your going to a country with visa, you need to apply in the embassy. You can check in the internet on what are the country you can visit with your passport. For example: in Philippine Passport, you can visit 60 countries, visa free.

3. Flight Itinerary - You need to book a round trip ticket, proving you are going back to your home country.

4. Accommodation Booking - You need to have a proof of accommodation. You need to prove that you have a place to stay. If you are going to stay on your friend or family place overseas, you need to have a letter indicating their complete name, address, and message telling they are inviting you to stay to their place.

5. Student ID or Company ID, if any - Proving you are still a student or employed.

6. Certificate of Enrollment or Certificate of Employment - Proving you are still a student or employed.

7. Leave of Absence (for Employed) - You need to have a proof that your allowed to leave.

8. Business Certificate (for Self Employed) -  You need to show that you have a business and have something to go back in your home country.

9. Sponsor letter from your Sponsor or Spouse and proof of relation (for Unemployed)

10. DSWD Travel Clearance (for Minors accompanying non relative)

11. Proof of Financial Capacity - It's either your Bank Statement, Payslips, or anything proving you have the capacity to travel. There is no specific amount of money you need to have in your bank account but please be sure you can financial support yourself.

12. Pen - Trust me, you need this.

THINGS TO DO ON YOUR FLIGHT

1. Check In - You can check in over the counter or online.

2. Money Exchange - Make sure you have money on your trip to another country.

3. Fill up the Departure Card - Before you fall in line in the Immigration, you need to make sure that you have a Departure Card. 

4. Go to Immigration - When facing a Immigration Officer, you need to face him or her directly, be respectful, answer honestly, give the requirements he or she asked, and smile. They are just people doing their job. 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WHEN YOU GOT OFFLOADED

1. Cancel everything immediately, some of the things might not get refunded or get half of the refund, but at least you can have any amount of money back.

2. Accept what happened and learn from it. This can be hard but you have no choice at the moment. This will also serve as an experience on what to do next time you fly.

Note: Most people ask, will they see if you got offloaded once you try to go out the country again. Yes, they record everything, they record where you have been, and when you got offloaded or not.
